“I am going to make everything around me beautiful—that will be my life.”
– ELSIE DE WOLF
Why do we decorate our walls, whether in our homes or work spaces? I think Elsie De Wolfe’s sentiment is one to live by. When we’re indoors we like to be reminded of the outside world, or we want some form of creativity or color to transform our space. The work can say something about you, say something about your space or best yet, take you to your favorite place or to a place you want to visit. I want people to feel transported via my art. My choice of cameras and exclusive use of film as a medium as opposed to digitally manufactured images is purposeful. Film original work is familiar to all of us because of it’s natural colors and subtle tonality. My goal is to create work, which once hung on your wall, forms a new window for you, free of the artificiality of the digital world. A view that you feel you can walk, swim or sail into, even if just for a few moments during your day.
